Bershina Nadezhda Vasilievna, born in 1965, graduated from the Faculty of Romance and Germanic Philology (English language) of Ivanovo State University in Ivanovo, Russian Federation, specializing in "philologist, translator, teacher". Total teaching experience is 27 years. After graduating from the university, she had experience working as an English teacher in a secondary school. In 2016, she defended her master's thesis at the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay in Almaty, and was awarded the academic degree of Master of Humanities. For 13 years, from 2005 to 2018, she worked as a senior teacher of English at Almaty Management University, teaching at the bachelor's and master's degrees. She taught the following disciplines: General English, Business English, Professional English, English for Specific Purposes: Academic Reading and Writing, IELTS Preparation. She also worked at the Soros School in Almaty, taught English at the Kurmangazy Kazakh National Conservatory, and at the InterPress language school. Since 2018, she has been working as a senior lecturer at Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. She teaches English at the medical and biological faculties. In 2013, she received a grant from the American Council for Cooperation in Language Education and Learning (ACCELS) under the Junior Faculty Development Program for university teachers, and spent a semester interning at Iowa State University in the USA in the field of linguistics. In 2015-2016, she studied linguistics at the University of Warmia and Masuria in Olsztyn, Poland.
